Sometimes You Just Have a Bad Day
This past week I took the ferry up to Friday Harbor in the San Juans to give a gratitude presentation to the local Rotary club. When I pulled up to the ferry ticket booth, I didn’t realize how expensive the fee had gotten for taking the ferry. No big deal….
I had dinner at a local restaurant and stayed at a nice hotel on the island. The next day I got ready to board the return ferry, and couldn’t start my car as a result of a dead battery. As the ferry workers rushed around to get me a jump, we finally got it started just as the ferry pulled away from the dock. Of course, the next ferry doesn’t leave for 3 hours.
I kept saying to myself, that of course, I am grateful just to be up in this part of the country, as it is incredibly beautiful. So I decide to go get a new battery and install it myself. After about a half hour, I had the new battery installed. So now I’m feeling better, when I hear the announcement that every car will be searched by US Customs, and expect there to be significant delays
So as a result of all of this, I arrive back at my home at 7pm, instead of Noon. That’s when I reminded myself the sometimes you just have a bad day, but that doesn’t mean you have to have a bad attitude.
Your attitude is a choice even on a bad day….. the choice is yours. Gratitude will help you to make that choice to be positive
Now the gratitude tip of the day……Take a minute today to think back about a recent bad day, and what you did to turn it around?
