What Happened to the Word Friend?

The other day I referred to someone I knew as a “friend” and after thinking about it, I realized how much I had misused that word.

I think a friend would bail you out of jail, help you change your tire in a rainstorm, and would come to your aid regardless of the circumstances and without any judgment or questions.

Now we live in a world of people “unfriending” one another and new words popping up like “I defriended you”

Take a look at all of the TRUE friends that you have in your life, and stop for a moment and think how grateful you are to have them as real friends.  Reflect on the value of friendship and community and appreciate how important it is to us humans.

Think about those friendships for a minute…..that is unless you defriended them…….
